Weekly Reminders:
• Drama Performances: Thursday, May 30th is mandatory dress rehearsal. All students in “Singin’
in the Rain” will stay after school until the end of the dress rehearsal. We will provide pizza, but
please be sure that they have snacks and a water bottle with them. Students in “Stone Soup”
should plan on arriving at the theatre by 5:00pm. Note: Helpful parents are needed in the green
room. However, they must be willing to give orders firmly (but nicely) and direct students to
where they need to be. On Tuesday, there will be a sign-up sheet in the office for green-room
volunteers. If you have questions, contact Dee Dee or Michele. (*This would be a great way to
catch up on your volunteer hours if you are behind.)
• June SLP Meetings: June will be the last time you meet face-to-face with your SLP advisor.
Appointment calendars will be on front desk next week. This last meeting is very important to
attend, as it allows the SLP advisors the opportunity to finalize your file and make sure there
are no missing documents or signatures.
• STEM Opportunity: “Tuesday May 28th, the “Sequim STEM Showcase” will feature Pacific
Northwest National Laboratory’s STEM Ambassadors, who will demonstrate new resources and
technologies available to Sequim students, teachers and school district staff. STEM
Ambassadors are PNNL scientists and engineers from the Laboratory’s main campus in
Richland, Wash., as well as PNNL’s Marine Sciences Laboratory (MSL) on Sequim Bay. They
share the wonders of science and their research with students, teachers and the general public
through school or public talks and the use of interactive, hands-on displays. The event kicks off
at 4pm in the high school cafeteria.
• I-Ready Testing: Sara’s 5th graders will be doing their i-Ready testing, on May 28th and 30th at
9:15. The middle school students will be scheduled accordingly at Nessa and Ned’s discretion.
Any questions feel free to call the office or your student’s teacher.
• Library Books: All library materials need to be returned by May 31st, otherwise fines will be
assessed. Any questions, please contact Stacy Tucker stucker@sequimschools.org or call her at
360-582-3410.
• Missing SLP’s: All monthly SLP’s are due by next Friday, May 31st
, including your May SLP.
Enrichment schedules will only be handed out to those families who are up-to-date on all SLP
forms and have returned their 2019-2020 registration packet.
• Water Bottles: Please send your student to school with a reusable water bottle or cup. We will
be will be limiting the use of paper cups, because they are not being thrown away properly and
our custodian keeps finding them littered on our grounds.

• HS Graduation and Eighth Grade “Moving On” Ceremony: This year we are doing things a little bit
differently. We will be having our HS Graduates and the Eighth Grade “Moving On” Ceremony on
Monday, June 10th
at 1:00pm in our OPA Gym. There will be a special cake reception afterwards
in our cafeteria. Our regular Awards Assembly (for all grades) will be on the last day of school,
Thursday, June 13th
at 1:00-2:00pm in our OPA Gym.

• Science Fair: The elementary and middle school students have been busy working on their
science fair projects. They will be presenting their completed projects on Monday, June 10th in
the morning. Families and friends are encouraged to attend and show their support!! Stay tuned
for more details! ☺ Note: There will be an altered schedule for this enrichment day due to the
different events going on.

• PTO Trash Pick-up: The OPA PTO received the bid to do trash pick-up at the Clallam County Fair
Trash again this year. This is a great way to get a head start on your volunteer hours for next
year. The sign-ups sheets are on the front counter in the office! Fair dates are August 15th
-18th
.
If you have questions, feel free to contact Harmony Kozelisky at 360-643-1911.
